Founder Joe Bolduc began crafting and codifying Beacon’s vision. Armed with a commitment to providing a rigorous yet authentically joyful environment where every scholar and staff member could flourish, Mr. Bolduc set out to create a school that would not only develop academic and social skills but also inspire a true community of learning in the heart of North Memphis.
2020
Beacon opened its inaugural year in August amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. With 77 scholars and 9 dedicated staff members, Beacon quickly established itself as a place where rigorous academics, purposeful structure, and a joyful community could come together to create a new type of community in which to teach and learn.

✔️ CompleteLRC Renovation
Beacon has successfully renovated and transformed an existing property (former church) into a modern Learning Resource Center, expanding space for enrichment, tutoring, and family engagement programs.
Coming SoonELC Renovation
Beacon plans to renovate the current gym, converting it into a fully equipped Early Learning Center, creating a dedicated space for early childhood instruction, and increasing Pre-K capacity by providing Pre-K services for up to 80 scholars.
Coming SoonPLC Building
Beacon plans to build the Primary Learning Center to serve K-5 scholars in a state-of-the-art building, increasing K-5 capacity, modernizing learning environments, and supporting projected enrollment growth.
By June 2027, Beacon College Prep will complete our full campus overhaul.
